CHORDination, founded by John Jaqua in 1984, is designed to provide music lessons, music educational materials, instruments, and performing opportunities for students. Experienced instructors teach piano, guitar, drums, singing and composition lessons to students at different levels including beginning to advanced for both adults and children. Additionally, lessons may be for some who may be preparing to study music in college or a career in music. Lessons are taught in the student's home. CHORDination administers the program so teachers can focus primarily on teaching. This enables students to learn the art of playing a musical instrument in an enriched and supportive environment.

In Home & Studio Recording

CHORDination's Recording Studio is designed to improve the art of solo piano playing. Students can create demos for school applications and auditions, or test their creative skills and produce their own music. Recordings make great gifts for grandparents and other family members.

Students can record one or more songs using our Steinway B (7') grand piano or Clavinova 409 at CHORDination's studio. However, they can also use other acoustic or electronic instruments. We can even record voice tracks or other instruments! We can "laydown" up to sixteen separate tracks, mix them, loop them, or add special effects. You can make your own drum tracks or import readymade tracks.

Studio Fees One hour $55.00, 1/2 hour $30.00 Each additional hour beyond three @ $35/hour
In Home Recording Fees: One hour $50. Each additional hour is $35/hour
Payment due at the end of each session. No credit cards please. Make checks payable to CHORDination.

Patrick Springer has been recording jazz and classical concerts on location in the Portland area for over 10 years and brings a musical background to each one of them. Whether doing live sound or recording, you can rest assured that what reaches the listeners ear will not detract from the performance.
