Steve Kerin

Steve is an exceptional teacher with strong fundamentals who loves to have fun. One parent, Cindy Wignot wrote "We so enjoy having Steve visit each week, it's always a great way to start our day. He's truly the best teacher our son has ever had (including school). We consider ourselves very lucky."

Steve Kerin was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and discovered piano at the age of four. While studying classical music in college, he discovered and was influenced by such New Orleans piano greats as Dr. John, Professor Longhair, and James Booker. By 2005 he found himself playing at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival alongside such artists as Randy Newman and The Black Crowes. In addition to his interest in popular styles, Steve also earned a Masters in Piano Performance from University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He taught at the Acadiana Symphony Conservatory from 1996-2001 and taught classes at the University of Louisiana from 1996-2005.
